Diesel Engine Testing
Excel houses four computer controlled engine test cells. This automated capability allows continuous 24/7 engine operation. Each test cell has the capability of measuring pressure, temperature, air flow and fluid flow in multiple locations of the engine. A precise mass based fuel consumption measurement system is used. An electrical load bank is utilized to conduct engine/Genset testing.

Data Acquistition System
Excel Engineering offers a wireless data acquisition system. The system is a modular design that is capable of recording over 70 individual channels at up to 50 Hz which include J1939CAN data, and up to 24 analog temperatures, 6 analog pressures, and 2 speed inputs into one data file. Storing up to 2GB of data. The data acquisition system can measure and record multiple pressures, and temperature channels along with recording data acquired from a J1939 CAN system. With this system, measured analog (temperature and pressure) channels and CAN data can be recorded simultaneously. This flexible, easy to use system is in use on construction, agricultural, and on-highway vehicles in many parts of the United States.

Emissions Testing
Emissions testing is available at this facility. Excel has the capabilities to conduct generic emissions of Nitric Oxide (N0x) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2). The test cells are also equipped to measure EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) flow when using engines equipped with EGR.
